These are suggested age ranges for each level, there may be exceptions made based on individual circumstance. Each level will become increasingly complex as it builds upon previous level classwork. Please contact us with placement requests & inquiries before enrolling so we can help find the right class fit for your dancer.
Baby (introductory): ages 2-4, no previous dance experience required
Pre (introductory): ages 5-6, no previous dance experience required
Level 1 (beginning): ages 7-8, no previous dance experience required
Level 2 (beginning intermediate): ages 9-11, 2-4 years of previous dance experience
Level 3 (intermediate): ages 11-13, 3-5 years of previous dance experience
Level 4 (intermediate advanced): ages 11-14, 5+ years of previous dance experience. This level is for the more serious dancer. Certain dance elements and degrees of flexibility are required for this level. Placement is at the discretion of Ms. Renee
Level 5 (advance): 15 & up: 7+ years of previous dance experience. This level is for the more serious dancer. Certain dance elements and degrees of flexibility are required for this level. Placement is at the discretion of Ms. Renee
Introductory ballet class focusing on beginning fundamentals of ballet with the use of creative movement, activities, and games to enhance cognitive and social development and learn classroom etiquette.
All Pre level classes prepare dancers for more advanced techniques to come in levels 1-4. This is done by focusing on class structure, learning beginning techniques and terminology.
Combination classes allow students to try two styles in a one hour time frame. These classes focus on basic and introductory fundamentals, techniques, and terminology of ballet and jazz with the use of creative movement, activities, and games to enhance cognitive and social development and learn classroom etiquette.
Classical ballet class imparting dancers with an understanding of terminology, musicality, and gestural expression. Students will advance through barre, center work, & progressions to strengthen the core, improve balance and flexibility, and execute precise movements with correct alignment.
Pointe is demonstrating the forms of ballet on your “toes”. Years of practice go into this form of dance. This class will focus on flexibility and strengthening the muscles of the feet, ankles, and legs to dance en Pointe. Pointe is for the experienced Ballet dancer. *Please contact Ms. Renee at 254-977-3772 to be considered for placement in this class.
Class focused on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street and Contemporary to help develop a well rounded dancer.
Tap utilizes rhythm, syncopation and sound in addition to movement. An emphasis is placed on musicality, expression, and improvisation.
Class melding aspects of ballet, jazz, and modern for a more freely expressive form of movement. Much like the dance styles it fuses this class will move through center work, across the floor progressions, and challenging combinations that will inspire dancers to delve into their own emotional pull.
High energy dance class introducing the latest hip hop trends, styles, and age appropriate moves of the genre. Music will always be free from explicit and questionable lyrics.
This is a class designed specifically for the serious dancer who wishes to perfect and refine their skills of turning, jumping, and leaping. These classes are taught with an emphasis on technique and correct body placement. They are taught in a progressive manner beginning with the basics through Leaps, Tricks & Turns 3, and advancing to high-level skills and combinations of those skills in Leaps, Tricks, and Turns Tech. The strength and conditioning exercises within this class are designed to build stamina and condition the body for difficult tricks. This class is highly recommended for competition dancers
These classes are by invitation only by Ms. Renee. Team members will compete in a dance competition at the end of the year and further expenses will be incurred.
